Many personnel had come and gone since “Please Mister Postman,” the very first Motown #1 in 1961. Wanda Rogers sang lead and was the only Marvelette on this single, as the Andantes filled the other female vocal parts; bass singer Melvin Franklin of the Temptations did the spoken intro.
