This cry-in-your-beer tune was a country #1 for nine consecutive weeks for David Houston, a descendant of Texas founding father Sam Houston and also Robert E. Lee. That feat was unmatched on those charts until Taylor Swift did it in 2012. David had a total of six country #1's plus a seventh with Tammy Wynette.
